Natalie is a fan of the keto diet, which helped her drop several clothing sizes when she moved to the United States. She eats mostly high-fat foods, severely restricting carbohydrates. According to Jason Ewoldt, RDN, LD, a wellness dietitian at Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program (HLP) those on the diet should try and get 60% to 80% of their calories from fat, consume a moderate amount of protein, and eat less than 50 grams of carbohydrates a day.
Natalie also does time restricted eating as part of her keto diet. She follows the 16:8 intermittent method, which entails eating during an eight hour window. “Intermittent fasting isn’t about starving yourself — it’s about cutting way back on calories for short time periods. The belief is that your body becomes satisfied with smaller portions while also reducing cravings for unhealthy snack foods. That is, as long as you maintain a healthy diet while trying it all out,” says the Cleveland Clinic.
Natalie doesn’t always get the rest she needs, so she has a secret trick for looking more rested. She told one of her fans that she takes aloe vera leaves, cuts them into small pieces, and places them in the freezer. When they are chilled she peels the aloe vera and massages them on her face and lips. “Perfect way to remove dark circles under the eyes and tighten the skin,” she said.
One way Natalie ensures healthy eating is by cooking her own food. She loves cooking so much that she even started a series on Youtube. One of her favorite dishes? Salmon and salad. Pasta with shrimp, sushi, stuffed bell peppers, and italian pizza are a few more of her favorites.
Natlie’s go-to breakfast? She starts off with black coffee and water. Then, she whips up a fruit salad with mango, apples, kiwi, and raspberry. She has also disclosed that she isn’t a big meat eater, but loves fish. “Raspberries are also full of those plant nutrients called polyphenols that decrease oxidative damage. One cup of fresh raspberries also provides 65 calories, 8 grams of fiber and 5.4 grams of natural sugar,” says the Cleveland Clinic.
